Every May, film enthusiasts are drawn to France’s Côte d’Azur for one of the world’s most prestigious film festivals. The Cannes Film Festival has seen an increasing number of films submitted every year. While looking for fresh aspects of creative invention in films from around the world, the 2010 Cannes Film Festival strived to balance between creation and industry.
Enthusiastic reception was delivered to this year’s President of the Jury, Tim Burton. The American filmmaker stands between cinéma d’auteur (art-house cinema), popular cinema and genre films. Burton’s influence added a touch of imagination and fantasy to this year’s Festival.
